We recently had the opportunity to take part in a Chalkhill Radio interview, where members of the MathsMakers community came together to share their experiences of the programme.
The session featured contributions from students, a Year 12 mentor, one of our maths Instructors, and parents, offering a range of perspectives on how MathsMakers supports young people both academically and personally.
During the discussion, students spoke about their experiences of attending sessions, the support they receive from instructors and peer mentors, and how the programme has helped them build confidence in maths. Our Year 12 mentors also reflected on their roles, sharing how supporting younger students has helped them develop communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
The conversation highlighted the value of small-group learning environments and the importance of creating spaces where students feel supported, understood, and able to engage positively with their learning.

We’re grateful to Chalkhill Radio for hosting the session, and to all the students, mentors, and families who contributed to the discussion.
