BigGive - Christmas Challenge 2025

The Big Give Double Your Donation campaign is now finished.
MathsMakers took part in the Big Give Christmas challenge this year for the first time!
The Big Give Christmas Challenge is a national fundraising campaign where every donation is doubled from the 2-9th December, giving twice the impact for charities helping those in need.
MathsMakers is very pleased to announce that we surpassed our initial target of £20,000 raising a final total of £20,844!
Thank you so much to eveyone who helped us with our campaign through liking our posts, spreading the word and actually donating. Your support has made a huge difference to us and we're extremely grateful!
A special thanks to the Big Give and our champions The Childhood Trust. Without you this wouldn't have been possible.
Across England, too many students are falling behind in maths, losing confidence and opportunities for the future. For disadvantaged students, over 50% fail to reach Grade 4 in English and Maths, compared to 27% of their peers. Private tuition is out of reach for many of these families.
As a charity, we work alongside schools and community organisations, to provide small-group tuition, to those most in need. We work to build core maths skills, confidence, and motivation helping young people to catch up, stay engaged, and reach their full potential. The benefit for our students goes well beyond the maths they learn.
"It's fantastic to have MathsMakers taking part in our upcoming Christmas Challenge! Their work supporting disadvantaged young people to build skills, confidence, and a love of maths aligns perfectly with our mission to help charities make a lasting difference through the power of match funding. Together, we can help double the impact for the young people who need it most.”
- Alex Day, Managing Director, Big Give
"MathsMakers is a fantastic programme. Great communication in terms of logistics, easy to work with and most importantly, supported great progress and attainment for the children who took part as well as increased confidence in maths"
