Did you know that the 5th May, 2025 was Square Root Day! This rare mathematics day only happens 9 times in a century! It’s celebrated when both the day and month are the square root values of the last two digits of the year. For example, 5/5/25, works because 5 is the square root of 25, and 25 is the last two digits of the year. The next Square Root Day will be on the 6th June 2036!
At MathsMakers, we love celebrating patterns like this — and more importantly, we help students understand them. Our intervention programmes for Years 6–11 focus on building strong number sense, including key skills like square roots, factors, and algebraic thinking.
📈 If your school is looking to boost maths confidence and progress, now’s the perfect time to take a closer look at what we offer.
