Celebrating our Year 6 students’ 2026 SATs results
We’re delighted to be celebrating the 2026 maths SATs results of Year 6 pupils who took part in our MathsMakers programmes last year.
So far, we’ve received results from two of our primary schools, and the results are really encouraging. Across these two schools, 83% of the pupils who took part in MathsMakers achieved the expected standard in maths, compared with 75% of pupils nationally.
At one school, 16 out of 19 MathsMakers pupils achieved the expected standard, while at the other, 8 out of 10 pupils achieved the standard. Several pupils also achieved scores close to the higher standard, including one pupil who was just one scaled score away.

Why additional maths support matters
Every young person’s journey in maths is different. Some pupils need more time to practise and consolidate their understanding, while others benefit from learning in a smaller group where they can ask questions, build confidence and work at a pace that suits them. This is where MathsMakers can provide valuable additional support.
We work alongside schools to complement classroom teaching, providing small-group maths and confidence-building programmes above and beyond what schools may have the capacity to provide themselves.
Our experienced teachers and tutors work with pupils to strengthen their maths skills, address areas where they need additional practice and develop confidence and positive attitudes towards learning. The majority of our Year 6 programmes also include maths mentors - older trained students who work alongside the Instructor to support and encourage the young students.
The SATs results are one part of how we evaluate the impact of our programmes. During our sessions, we also use assessments, observations and feedback from pupils and schools to understand how young people are progressing.

We’d also like to thank the schools, teachers, parents, volunteer student mentors and our MathsMakers Instructors for supporting the pupils throughout the year.
It’s particularly encouraging to know that both schools are keen to continue working with us, and we’re looking forward to supporting more young people to develop their maths skills, confidence and self-belief this year.
