Olly, Year 10, Online programme
Olly attended one of our online MathsMakers programmes in Year 10. In our Initial quiz he scored 60% and it was clear that he had some significant areas of weakness in algebra.
Olly chose to respond to these challenges with maturity and dedication: he was extremely punctual to every session, asking for additional examples and support when required. Outside of the sessions he always attempted the homework, after which he often had questions. As a result of the engagement of both Olly and other group members, the sessions were able to progress at a faster pace. Our instructor adapted her tutorials to meet the needs of the students and additional work was covered.
During the sessions Olly secured a good foundation of maths skills and he gained a better understanding of where he could find online resources and revision to help him continue to progress after completion of the programme. Olly scored a well deserved 100% in our final quiz.
