Student Mentors

Mentoring Opportunities

Gaining Valuable Work Experience

At MathsMakers, we make maths learning accessible to all. We run after-school maths intervention programmes for students in Years 7-9 who are selected by their maths teachers. Our programme involves Sixth Form students who volunteer as maths mentors over 15-20 weeks in the Autumn and Spring terms.

MathsMakers provides mentors with training and supervision, giving them important skills and work experience, writing letters of recommendation, and helping them gain accreditations in volunteering and leadership.

What Do Mentors Say?

"I learnt to be patient and to communicate better. I learnt how to guide students through complex maths problems. If you want to help others and work on your own interpersonal and communication skills, you should give it a go. "
